Wow, I Used the reading lesson about 1 1/2 years ago to teach my daughters to read. The oldest daughter was then 6 and the school had been unable to tech her to read in her first year of school. So I taught her and her 4 year old sister to read.
When she went into her second year of school(Year1) I spoke to the teacher telling her that I think my daughter has a problem....but because I had taught my daughter to read using this system they didn't believe me there could be a problem.
Well now my daughter is in Year 2(Aged 7) My daughter started compalining that she sees lines coming out of the words. I took her to an optometrist (november last year)who said that he wants to see her again in 6 months but she is fine now. A week ago her teacher said to me could we get her eyes tested for scotopic sensitivity syndrome. So yesterday She was tested. And the results are that she has problems with her eye scanning, and eye convergence and battles to focus on the page and she also suffers with synoptic sensitivity syndrome. He said usualy children with these problems are unable to learn to read.
So I would recomend this program to any parent......I only used the big book didn't enough money to get the computer program. Yes I am in the UK and it is an American English program I just told my daughters where we do it differently To me that is minor if it is going to help your child read. IT is only in a few places like colour=color etc.
Thank you for a proram that could help my daughter read.
Regards
Jeanette
