I accidentally found your program while searching google for a good phonics program through a review of some sort 2 months ago and ordered the book and CD from amazon.com. Let me congratulate and thank you for an excellent program.
Should I also focus on improving my 4.5 year old's writing skills? What age is appropriate to focus on writing and are there any programs that you can recommend.

Never mind, I found the writing lessons cd on your website itself. May be a quick redesign is needed on your front page to highlight the 3. Reading, Math and Writing instead of products, downloads etc.

Thanks for your suggestions on improving the navigation on our website. I like them and will try to make the change.
Writing is quite important while children are learning to read. Of course, their skills are very variable. Some (usually girls) are very good and others (usually left handed children) do not like writing. No matter, what their capability, they all benefit from practice.
We have a Teach Me Handwriting ebook that goes with the lessons. This ebook is done in Manuscript style and may be less useful for younger children (under age 4). Instead I suggest the Writing lesson CD which has a lot of pages of letters and words.
Alternately you can purchase a font program and create your own practice worksheets. But yes, I strongly recommend handwriting along with learning to read.
